Introduction- Shanghai Cooperation Organization's (SCO's) meeting held in Qingdao in June 2018 discussed three evils- terrorism, extremism and separatism. There were certain outcomes and discussion held about –

1.      The special role of SCO to counter these evils and three years agenda from 2018 to 2021 was also discussed.  Member Nations also showed concerns about terrorists getting the weapon of mass destruction. 
2.      Leaders also advocated International legal Framework and supported International Convention against Chemical and Biological weapons at conference of disarmament. 
3.      They also discussed cooperation in combating the spread and propagation of terrorist ideologies through internet. 
4.      SCO countries reaffirmed their commitment to improve cooperation within bloc to combat illegal drug trafficking. 

About SCO or Shanghai Cooperation Organization or Shanghai Pact- This is a group of  Europe and Asian countries. It is political economical and security organization and was founded in 2001. The member countries are given in map.

Benefits for India to join SCO-  India can benefit from economy and national security. 
  • India can get more resources from countries like Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Uzbekistan. 
  • India will get better access to International North- South Transport Corridor. 
  • TAPI pipeline in December 2015 also started.
  • India has been suffering from terrorist attack, and SCO is committed to fight terrorism, separatism and religious extremism. This will also help India to fight terrorism. 
  • India can have opportunities to resolve border disputes
  • India may get better resources for Energy Crisis
