Introduction- Human Trafficking is 3rd largest organised crime violating basic human rights. The Trafficking of Persons (Prevention, Protection and Rehabilitation) Bill, 2018 was introduced in Parliament in 2018 as earlier there was no rule to deal with Trafficking . The bill proposed stringent punishment of 10 years to life imprisonment for aggravated  forms of Trafficking. 

What will be considered into Trafficking offences?
It includes buying/ selling of a person for the purpose of bonded labour, bearing a child, giving chemical substances for hormonal growth, and survivor acquire a life threatening disease like AIDS.

What will be new?
National Anti Trafficking Bureau - The agency will coordinate, monitor,  and surveillance of Trafficking cases.

A Rehabilitation Committee and Rehabilitation FundThe fund will have initial corpus of 10 crore. The fund will be used for rehabilitation of sex workers. It deals with confidentiality of victims and witness  by not disclosing their identity. Issue's Related-  People are worries about ethical treatment of sex workers as this bill has crime centric approach. In some cases rehabilitated workers again went to sex labour, so rehabilitation does not work. As well as volunteer sex workers should not be harassed. Sex workers may not approach the police for violations as well. The bill should recognise the hormonal therapy for transgender.
