Why
women are still lagging in the field of Entrepreneurship?
Indian
scenario
There is
no denying of the fact that women in India have made considerable progress in
almost seven decades of independence, but they still must struggle against many
handicaps and social evils in the male-dominated society. Many evil and
masculine forces still prevail in the modern Indian society that resist women
to move forward. Men- made norms don’t let women walk alone as they consider
them weak.
Women are
told to be weak and dependable on men since their childhood. This is harsh
reality of India. Women in India now participate in areas such as education,
sports, politics, media, art and culture, service sector and science and
technology. But due to the deep-rooted patriarchal mentality in the Indian
society, women are still victimized, humiliated, tortured and even raped. Women
are still subjected to discrimination in the social and educational field.
Swami
Vivekananda, one of the greatest sons of India, quoted that, “There is no chance for the welfare of the world
unless the condition of women is improved, it is not possible for a bird to fly
on only one wing.”
What
should be done for women inclusion?
1.
There should be respect and dignity towards women.
2.
Women should have
total independence of their own in life inside home and outside at work.
3.
They should be
free to make their decision, by their own choice.
4.
.They should
get rights in society and other judicial works
5.
.They should
not be discriminated while providing any type of education.
6.
They should select
their select their own economic and financial choices.
7.
There should not
be any discrimination between woman and man while giving jobs and employment.
Conclusion
Overall,
better jobs for women are going to benefit individuals, families, communities’
companies, and economic situations. India which is riding on the high economic
growth for last few years could ensure sustainable and double digit growth by
improving women’s participation in market. India can take cue from newly
industrialized countries like China, South Korea, Malaysia, which invested
hugely in increasing the share of female in labor -force participation and are
reaping its benefits. Specially lessons learnt from Japan about Womenomics, are definitely proven
successful examples.
