Akhil Bhartiya Andhashraddha Nirmoolan Samiti, an activist group, has accused Shastri of propagating "superstition," and has filed an FIR against him. Additionally, they gave Shastri a challenge to demonstrate his miraculous powers at their Satsang but Shastri refused it.

Another controversy involves his assertion that he can understand the problems of his followers without asking them directly. Furthermore, he has been accused of possessing the power to expel ghosts from people and exorcise them.

On one of his shows, he expelled a ghost from a woman who was struggling with her husband. Additionally, he exorcised a demon from a boy suffering from serious sexual problems.

Reports indicate he has been performing miracles for more than five years. He has been able to solve many people's problems, such as love life, finances, and marriage problems; in addition, he also assists many individuals in breaking free of bad habits, phobias and depression.

Shyam Manav from Maharashtra was also stirred by the controversial event and challenged Shastri to demonstrate his "miracles". The 'Baba' has claimed to be able to read minds and perform other miracles such as exorcising spirits and predicting future outcomes for followers.
